Harry Becomes a Terrier
Another one of our Black & Yellow starlets has signed for a Pro Club.
Congratulations to Harry Carney, he has signed for Huddersfield U11s for the remainder of the season. He has been involved with Hudds since age 7 without really ever receiving a chance to step into the Academy set up. After some impressive performances over the summer for his Junior club he started to catch the eye of some scouts.
Huddersfield acted quickly and offered him a 6 week trial period during which time Harry wasn’t allowed to play for his club side (Drighlington Juniors), Harry loves playing for Drig but he understood and was happy to be given the chance. After a couple of nervous displays in the first couple of weeks Harry settled down and started to believe he was good enough and sure enough that new found confidence resulted in some better performances and a headed goal against Liverpool.
Confidence and self belief are key in young players, Harry came to us in May and we could see just how good he was instantly. He was a stand out performer in our game against the Man City select squad on the 2nd September and we believe that played a vital part in him realising how good he is and that he is more than able to perform at that next level. We don’t claim any credit for Harry achieving what he has, all the credit is with Harry but if by being in the environment that we create in our Elite Squad helped in any way then we are delighted to have played a part.
He is blessed with great speed and a very good eye for goal. We look forward to seeing his progress over the next few months.
Well done Hazza
